When selecting the perfect NYC wedding vendors, can become very overwhelming. But in actuality, it’s super important to select the right vendors. You might not realize it, but finding vendors you really connect with is an important step of wedding planning. There might only be two of you walking down the aisle on your big day, but there are so many others involved to help plan, organize and execute your perfect wedding. Here are a few things to keep in mind when making your choices.

Personality Connection:

First impressions mean a lot. When you first meet a prospective NYC wedding vendor, you should feel a connection. You will be spending a lot of time with them, either in person, on the phone or online with emails. If you don’t feel comfortable with them now, why would you be on your wedding day? Not every vendor is the right fit for you, just like not every bride is a good fit for the vendor. It’s ok when this happens. No hard feelings, just move on.

Do your Homework:

Make sure you do plenty of research for all your NYC wedding vendors. Read all the reviews when searching for the perfect vendor. See what other brides had to say, both for the good and the bad. Take a look at our venue page to find your perfect venue.

Make Sure your Date is Available:

There is nothing more heartbreaking than falling in love with a vendor and finding out they’re not available for your wedding. While this is very disappointing, the good news is they may be able to refer you to another vendor. The bottom line is: if you like a wedding vendor, they can probably recommend someone with a similar style and personality.

Review the contract carefully:

Before signing the contract, make sure there are no hidden fees or overtime charges that might be a surprise later. Also, make sure all the details of pricing, location, timing, and cancellation policies are in line with what you discussed. If you talked about additional services outside of a wedding vendor’s usual scope, make sure you get it in writing.

Have Fun:

Picking vendors and venues for your wedding can be stressful, but not if you don’t want it to be. Embrace and enjoy meeting all these new people that are going to help make your dream wedding come true. Get to know them, learn what they love about weddings and why they do what they do. It’s fun going over plans and telling them ideas. If you are enjoying the process, your wedding vendors will soak it up and work that much harder for your wedding because they are doubly enjoying it.
