What is your approach to photographing a wedding?

What is your approach to photographing a wedding?

Great question.  I’m not there to direct your day—I’m there to pay attention to it.
Most of what I do is observe. The in-between moments, the way people interact, the things you don’t notice in real time. That’s where the photos come from.  There’s some guidance when you need it, but nothing that pulls you out of the experience.

How would you describe your style?

Clean, honest, and a little bit editorial—but never overdone. I’m drawn to natural light, real moments, and images that feel timeless without trying too hard. Nothing overly stylized, nothing that’s going to feel dated in a few years.

Do you primarily photograph weddings in Brooklyn or New Jersey?

Do you primarily photograph weddings in Brooklyn or New Jersey?

Actually, most of the weddings I photograph take place across Brooklyn and throughout New Jersey.
Being familiar with both areas means I understand how different venues, light, and timelines actually work—whether it’s a Brooklyn loft or a New Jersey estate. That familiarity helps the day feel more relaxed and allows everything to unfold naturally, without unnecessary interruptions or guesswork.

Are you familiar with New Jersey wedding venues and their photography guidelines?

Are you familiar with New Jersey wedding venues and their photography guidelines?

I am experienced with a wide range of New Jersey wedding venues, from historic estates and private clubs to waterfront and garden settings. Each venue has its own flow, lighting considerations, and guidelines. Knowing how these spaces function allows me to anticipate moments, work respectfully within venue policies, and capture images that feel natural rather than forced.

Do New Jersey venues affect the photography timeline?

Do New Jersey venues affect the photography timeline?

Yes, venue layout and natural light play a significant role in shaping the photography timeline. Some New Jersey venues are brightest earlier in the day, while others shine during late afternoon or early evening. Understanding how light moves through a space allows me to help plan a timeline that feels natural and ensures moments are photographed at their best without rushing.

What happens if it rains on our wedding day in New Jersey?

What happens if it rains on our wedding day in New Jersey?

Rain is something New Jersey couples often worry about, but it rarely impacts the quality of the photography. I plan for flexibility and work comfortably in all conditions. Many venues offer beautiful indoor spaces, covered areas, or architectural elements that photograph wonderfully. Rain often slows the pace of the day in a positive way, creating intimate, emotional moments that feel honest and memorable.

How far in advance should we book?

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples reach out 8–18 months in advance, especially for peak dates. That said, if your timeline is shorter, it’s always worth asking.

Do you work with New Jersey wedding planners and coordinators?

Do you work with New Jersey wedding planners and coordinators?

I frequently collaborate with New Jersey wedding planners, venue coordinators, and vendor teams. Clear communication and mutual respect between vendors helps the day flow smoothly and keeps the focus on your experience. When everyone is aligned, moments unfold naturally and the photography becomes a seamless part of the celebration rather than a distraction.

We’re not comfortable posing—how do you handle that?

We’re not comfortable posing—how do you handle that?

Most couples I work with feel this way. My approach is documentary-driven with gentle guidance, not rigid posing. Rather than asking you to perform, I create space for natural interactions and guide you only when needed. This allows you to stay present and comfortable, resulting in photographs that feel authentic and reflective of who you truly are.

Do you travel for weddings?

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes—travel is a big part of what I do. Whether it’s local or somewhere else entirely, I approach it the same way: show up, settle in, and document what’s actually happening.

When do we get our photos back?

When do we get our photos back?

You can expect your full gallery within 6–8 weeks.  I don’t rush it—but I also don’t sit on it. The goal is to deliver something that feels complete and considered.

How many images do we receive?

How many images do we receive?

It depends on the day, but typically 600–900+ images for a full wedding. Enough to tell the full story—without overwhelming you with duplicates or filler.

If you’re planning a wedding here, I’d love to hear what you’re thinking.

I take on a limited number of weddings each year so I can keep things personal and stay present with every couple—so making sure we’re a good fit really matters.
