It’s not often that a couple comes to me for engagement and wedding photos to be taken at the same venue. But, when it does happen, it’s a great day to be a photog! While some may think such a situation would hamper my creativity or limit my shooting range, it does the exact opposite. No matter how many shots I take at an event, there are always more I wish I had time to capture. So, when I get the chance to return to the same venue with the same couple, I’m already brimming with creative ideas.
An L.I.C. Bar Wedding
The L.I.C. Bar is the type of venue that feels both upscale and comfortable. It has a rustic vibe that helps make wedding photos look classic and effortless. With a wide variety of spaces and locations to capture all the unique elements of this venue, I was elated to be able to go back and shoot this couple in this amazing space.
The First Look
The best thing about couples who shoot in unconventional spaces is that they are likely to be unconventional in many respects. Another great part of shooting this couple was the ‘first look,’ which is something that many couples consider to be non-traditional. Either way, rather than seeing each other for the first time in front of the crowd, they did a private first look at the L.I.C. waterfront, which is also the place where Dan originally proposed. The groom turned around to behold his beautiful bride and couldn’t help but clap with excitement; it was, by far, one of the most special and pure moments of the entire day.
